Prof. Data Irene Ekine is the current Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture. She is a professor of Agricultural Economics. Her areas of specialization include Agricultural Production Economics, Farm Management and Agricultural Marketing. She is a lecturer, researcher, and consultant. She carried out several consultancy projects with Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria (SPDC) Women’s Programme (East) Department of Community Development. She has several publications in both local and international journals and has attended several conferences. She was formerly the Acting Head of the Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics and former Director of the Rivers State Institute of Agricultural Research and Training (RIART). She is visible on Google Scholar and has supervised over 30 PhD. Students, over 60 MSc. and several BSc. Students. She is a member of Nigeria Association of Agricultural Economists (NAAE), Farm Management Association of Nigeria (FAMAN), Economic Society of Nigeria and an active member of Association of Deans of Agriculture in Nigeria (ADAN).
