PROFILE OF THE DIRECTOR OF LINKAGES AND ADVANCEMENT

Prof. Abam is a member of the regulatory board, Council of Nigerian Mining Engineers and Geoscientists (COMEG) as well as a member of Council of the Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society.
Prof Abam is the current Editor-in-Chief of (i) the Journal of Mining and Geology and the Journal of Geosciences and Environmental Research. He served as Editor-in-Chief, Journal of Nigerian Environmental Society 2012-2018 and as Associate Editor, Journal of Construction and Material Technology.
Prof. Abam is a Fellow of several professional Associations, including Nigerian Association of Hydrogeologists, Nigerian Environmental Society, Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society, Nigerian Association of Hydrological Sciences, the Nigerian Association for Engineering Geology and the Environment, Institute of Oil and Gas Research and the Institute of Management Consultants.

Prof. Abam is a Knight of the order of St. Christopher and is happily married to Barbara Dasika Abam and blessed with children.

PROFILE OF THE DIRECTOR OF LINKAGES AND ADVANCEMENT

Tamunoene Kingdom ABAM is a Professor of Engineering Geology. He holds a B.Sc. degree in Geology from the University of Ibadan, M.Sc/D.I.C(Lond.) from Imperial College, London and PhD in Engineering Geology from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He was President, Nigerian Association for Engineering Geology and the Environment between 2017 and 2019. He is currently Vice President (Africa) of the International Association for Engineering Geology and the Environment (IAEG). He is the current Director, Rivers State University Centre for Advancement and Linkages. He served for 8years as Director, Institute of Geosciences and Space Technology at the Rivers State University, PortHarcourt, Nigeria. Prof. Abam’s research and practice are both focused on Soil Characterization, Marine Geotechnics, Environmental Geophysics and Coastal hazards. He has published over 100 technical articles in reputable learned journals across the globe.
