Barr (Mrs) Blessing Amadi (nee Onu) attended the famous ACMGS Elelenwo and had her WASC (Grade II) in 1972. She had her OND in Business Administration in 1976 and her HND in Business Administration in 1980 (Distinction) from the College of Science and Technology Port Harcourt. She had her LLB in 1995 and in 1996, she had her BL and was called to the Bar as Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. In 1999 she had her LLM from the Rivers State University
In 1980, Blessing was posted to Plateau State for her NYSC and served in the Jos University Teaching Hospital. She was employed by the University of Science and Technology in 1984 as a Purchasing Officer and rose to the rank of a Chief Stores Officer in 1993.
Upon the acquisition of her LLB, BL and LLM certificates, her profile in the University changed thus: Senior Assistant Registrar, Legal Officer, Council Officer and Special Assistant to the Vice Chancellor (SAVC).

In 2007, she was posted to the Faculty of Law where she taught Constitutional Law, Law of Contract, Commercial Law and Business Law. With the administrative skills obtained over the years, she excelled in her assignments in the Faculty of Law as Chairman of Examination Malpractice Committee, PG Cordinator among other Committees. She has written two books and a number of local and international journals. She is a motivational speaker to youths and women. She was appointed a Deputy Registrar in October 2016 and the Director Legal Services in May 2017
She is a member various professional bodies which include: Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), International Bar Association (IBA), Nigerian Society of International Lawyers, Academic Staff Union of Nigerian Universities (ASUU), National Association of Law Teachers (NALT), Legal Officers of Nigerian Universities (LONU), Association of Professional Nigerian University Administrators (ANUPA), Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered) etc.
She has served in several Committees as Member, Nigerian Bar Association (NBA National) Constitution and Law Review Committee, Member, Nigerian Bar Association (NBA National) Select Committee, Member, RSUST Central Exam Monitoring Committee, Member, Investment Committee, Member, Rivers State Action on Implementation, (UNODC) in collaboration with National Judicial Council. Member and Resource Person, Rivers State Rehabilitation Centre, Okehi, Etche. She has attended both local and international conferences in law, administration etc.
She has served in the following Boards/Committees. They include Board Member, Rivers State Bureau on Public Procurement. Council Member, Ken Saro Wiwa Polytechnic, Bori Representing RSUST. Member, Rivers State Accreditation and Verification Committee on Private Nursery/Primary/Secondary Schools in Rivers State. State Treasurer, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Rivers State.
She is a recipient of distinguished awards.
She is married with three lovely children and four beautiful grandchildren.
