Profile:

Dr Esther Abili is at present a Lecturer 1 in the department of Public Law, Faculty of Law of the Rivers State University (RSU), Port Harcourt, Nigeria. Upon her appointment as a teaching staff in 2019, and as a distinguished academic, she has taught Public International Law, Constitutional Law, and currently teaches the Law of Evidence and Mineral Law.. Also, Dr Abili has supervised tons of final year students’ project research and postgraduate dissertations, and has well over 10 thoroughly-researched articles published in reputable journals standing to her credit.

As an adept legal researcher, Dr Esther Abili obtained her Master of Laws (LL.M) Degree in Mining/Minerals Law from the RSU in 2019. She is also an ambassador of the African Mining Legislation Atlas (AMLA), and was a trainee participant at the 2018 AMLA Workshop in Kigali, Rwanda. Furthermore, in 2023, Dr Abili bagged a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Degree from the RSU in International and Human Rights Law. Her thesis majored in Aviation Law and she is an Advocate of Air Passengers’ Rights.

Moreover, Dr Abili is a supervisor and reviewer of the African Petroleum Legislation Atlas (APLA) Project, which got underway after the 2022 APLA Year 1 Workshop held in Eduardo Mondlane University, Maputo, Mozambique. She functions as a quality control vet of selected trainee supervisees/legal research team (LRT) in the meticulous task of procuring genuine copies of primary Petroleum Legislation and subsidiary legislation of listed African countries, and subsequently uploading same onto the APLA platform.

As a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, Dr Esther Abili has well over a decade of experience in the practice of law. She is also a Notary Public of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
