In the beginning NUC, benchmark approval was to create Faculty of Arts, out of the Institute of Foundation Studies. However, the wisdom of Prof. Mother Marie Eboh (Then Director of IFS), and her academic team pushed for the birth of the two Faculties (SOCIAL SCIENCES AND HUMANITIES).

In the same year, the Department of Psychology was created, and admitted its first set of undergraduate who are now in 400 levels under Dr. S. A. Egbuchu was appointed in 2018 as the pioneer Head of Department. The students will develop to be leaders and experts in the field of business/industry, and education.

The objectives of our programme are as follows:

  • To train the students on how to predict human behaviour.
  • To influence or alter the behaviour of inidivual or group in desirable ways so as to achieve the goal he/she desires.
  • To train students on how to understand human behaviour.
